Is He Going 2 Be Worth it?

Steve Strasburg is getting so much hype right now, that people that don't even follow college baseball know his entire story. In today's draft the Washington Nationals are going to have to come up with a lot of money for this phenom, something they sure don't have a lot of. But, his agent Scott Boras isn't an idiot. He knows what his client is worth and how much he should get. And even though he will be dealing with the Nationals, if they want his client they are going to have to pay for him. This kid is getting more hype than any college pitcher you could ever think of. Many scouts think that he is Major League ready right now! Since the Nationals spring training facility is less than an hour and half away, I am thrilled with the fact that I could see him pitch next spring. I just hope, for the Nationals sake, that he will be worth it to the organization and become an absolute star. Unlike these hyped college pitchers in the past:

- Ben McDonald 1st pick in 1989 by Baltimore

- Paul Wilson 1st pick in 1994 by New York Mets

- Kris Benson 1st pick in 1996 by Pittsburgh

- Matt Anderson 1st pick in 1997 by Detroit

- Mark Prior 2nd pick in 2001 by Chicago Cubs

- Todd Van Poppel 14th pick in 1990 by Oakland
