Random Thoughts Today

My famous Uncle Bob said to me this on Monday afternoon that there was nothing on the television Sunday because all that was on the stations was, as he puts it, "God Damn Sports!!!" As much as I agreed with him, I had to add..."Where's the problem?". Isn't the fall just so much fun? I absolutely love the month of October (at least down in Florida because the weather is still in the 80s). Playoff baseball and the being so comfortable on my couch on Sundays watching football and eating like a slob is so great! I just think that if there is a heaven on earth, it is founded in the month of October. Let's get into some random thoughts I have tonight that include a weekend review.

How good is Manny Ramirez? I am really curious on what my readers think. You can debate all day on who is the greatest hitter of all time is. But, during my 30 years on earth I gotta say the Manny is easily the greatest right handed hitter I have ever...ever seen! I know that I have said this before on this blog, but the guy just amazes me every time I watch him hit. Say what you want about him, but he will go down in history as one of the best post season players and pure hitters the game has ever seen when his playing days are over.

Hey John Lachey, your team wasn't the best team again this season. Sorry buddy! How you can say that you were the better team in this series with the Sox is a joke. You are based on your performance during the year on how you play in the post season. And the Angels just aren't good in October. How you can actually go home and look at yourself in the mirror and believe that you were on the better team after losing to an injury filled Red Sox team in 4 games is amazing to me. Hope that you enjoy your "best team of 2008" ring that you will receive on opening day in 2009.

Say what you want about how Chicago would be great for ratings in the NLCS but real, I repeat, real baseball fans like myself are really looking forward to the Phillies and Dodgers. This is a great match up ladies and gentlemen! Pitching match ups will be in place and the line ups will be well rested. I can say that the series could be done in 5, but I really hope not. I will not be mad at the outcome to the series either way, but just so my readers know, this will be a better series than the one in the AL. Yea, I said it!

As for the one in the AL, the Rays are 4 games closer to not only a World Series but a chance to win me some money from Las Vegas. My preview will be coming tomorrow so I won't give to much away now but if Josh Beckett pitches like he did in game 3 the Red Sox are doomed!

HOW BOUT THOSE REDSKINS!!!!

As painful as it is to write about, last night was the worst night of my fantasy football career. I really wonder why I even bother. Just when I think there is a chance, the walls close in on me. I was down 83...that's right 83 points going into the Monday night game with Drew Brees and Bernard Berrain playing. Well, after Berrain's miracle catch in the endzone and Brees marching down the field on their final drive the lead went down to 1. YOU WOULD THINK THAT SEAN PAYTON LEARNED THE FIRST TIME!!!!! Damn you! All I needed was a touchdown, but no they decided to run the ball and make Martin Grammatica have a chance at another game winner. He has already blown one this year, so you would think that Payton would try to get in the endzone so he wouldn't have another choke job from Martin. Glad you lost f*ck$rs! Cuz, now my record falls to 2-3 with a top five scoring team.
