I thought that Tony Kornheiser was kidding around when he told the camera that Stephen Jackson will be the team captain for the Golden State Warriors this coming season. The same Stephen Jackson that caused nothing but grief in Indiana as a Pacer, with being the number two guy in the famous brawl in Detroit. The same guy who a year ago today, was part of a scene that occurred at a strip club with bullets flying in the air like the love-bugs that are out in Florida. The same guy who will be suspended for the first seven games of the this season for pleading guilty to criminal recklessness for the flying bullets. And the same guy who just reported to camp with a new tattoo, I hate to even say it but a tattoo of a church in the background of two praying hands holding a gun. Niiiice!
The only thing that I can think Don Nelson would do this is to give this headcase some responsibility and that this might keep him out of trouble, but I don't agree with it. A captain is someone that is suppose to lead by example, and a person that others look to. Stephen Jackson is not this and probably never will be. Nelly's other two captain's in my opinion are, Baron Davis and Matt Barnes.
