Did the Buffalo Bills seriously sign Terrell Owens? That was quick! All the talk about who would want to go after him and how long it would take was shot down faster that I thought, or should I say hoped for. Here is my reasoning on why the Bills picked up T.O, and why it makes sense.
1. They really need to pick up their attendance. There was a ton of talk about the Bills relocating out of Buffalo this past season. And what way to shut down those talks than getting a high profile wide receiver like TO.
2. Owens can still play a little bit people. 10 touchdowns and his 9th 1000 yard season last year.
3. This move makes life easier for quarterback Trent Edwards. That's correct. Along side Owens will be Lee Evans, who has deep ball potential and now the Bills have 2 big play receivers.
4. If it doesn't work, then they can say good-bye. If the Bills find that Owens is a distraction, then the 1 year 6.5 million dollar deal was worth the chance. They didn't pay him a lot and the city of Buffalo is in desperate need of a winner right now.
5. Buffalo is not Dallas or Philly. It is a small market team that will keep TO out of the papers more. Well, let's just say less than if he was in a big time city.
